I'm Connor Fucci and I’m a senior at Salisbury University. I live in New York, and I've been a Knicks fan my whole life. I will be writing about the New York Knicks on my blogs.
Jalen Brunson’s effect on the Knicks has been massive. When
he signed with the Knicks, fans were not expecting much, but Brunson became the
main piece of New York’s offense very quickly. Recognized for his mid-range
game, great footwork, and high basketball IQ, Brunson averaged over 29 points
and 7 assists per game last season. Brunson is much more than just a scorer,
he’s a leader, a playmaker, and a clutch player in close games these are traits
that have not been in Madison Square Garden for years.
Going into the 2024-2025 NBA season, Brunson has set his goals
even higher. After 2 years of Knicks basketball, he built an understanding of
Tom Thibodeau’s coaching style and has built his chemistry with teammates like Josh Hart and OG Anunoby. The Knicks are relying on Brunson’s leadership to get them
past a tough Eastern Conference, and he’s accepting the goal. If he can keep devolving
his game, there’s a good chance he will take the Knicks further than the second
round of the playoffs and make the Knicks title contenders—a dream Knicks fans
have been waiting to achieve for years.
